Legal Battle over Nassau University Medical Center Board.

    David Mejias , a well-known attorney in Nassau County, is involved in a legal dispute over the leadership of the board that runs Nassau University Medical Center. The conflict centers around the appointment of two individuals to a board seat, one appointed by the former county executive and the other by the current county executive.   Judge Temporarily Bars Matthew Bruderman from Board Seat   On Wednesday, a judge ordered a temporary injunction preventing Matthew Bruderman, the board chairperson chosen by Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman, from assuming office. Ann Kayman, a trustee who was chosen by previous County Executive Laura Curran, was reinstated by the ruling. Judge Randy Sue Marber issued an injunction preventing Bruderman from holding the same position to which Ann Kayman was nominated on or around December 17, 2021, as a Director and/or Chair of the Board of Nassau Health Care Corporation.
